Disifin is a fast acting wide spectrum disinfectant, active against bacteria, viruses (including HIV/HBV), yeast and fungi.
In workplace test conditions it has been shown not to adversely affect the dimensional stability of impression materials, including alginates. In fact 15 minutes immersion of Silicone, Polyether and Alginates impression in Disifin solution produces no significant effect on the dimensional stability of the impression.
Disifin can also be used for surface disinfection, plaster models disinfecting, dental laboratory supplied appliances.

For Routine Disinfection
Add 2 tablets to 1 litre of warm water (0.5% solution / 5,000 ppm) exposure time of 15 minutes Add 4 tablets to 1 litre of warm water (1.0% solution 10,000 ppm) exposure time of 8 minutes ** Disifin med solution lasts up to 1 week in the Impression bath**

Application
Preparing for solution
Fill Disifin bath with clean tap water up to the FILL mark.
Place two Disifin tablets into the bath and wait until the tablets have completely dissolved (takes 30 seconds).
Prepare fresh Disifin solution weekly or sooner should there be heavy soiling or usage.
Disifin solution is readily biodegradable. For further chemical, composition details see Disifin Tablet instruction leaflet.
Disinfection
Place impressions in Disifin tray, rinse under running water and avoid splashing. Shake off water.
Immerse into freshly prepared Disifin solution for 15 minutes.
Rinse well again under running water and shake off excess water.
Enter impression details onto Disifin polybag and seal the impression inside it, (in case of hydrocolloid- alginate or polyether gel impressions, first cover impression with wet gauze)
Attach dentist prescription docket and despatch to laboratory.
NOTE: Always disinfect impression, trays, bite blocks, and appliances sent for repair or additions. Always disinfect work from a laboratory before it is placed in the patient’s mouth.
